Good morning…
Another exciting day (for me, at least.)
And another day where we got a 50% strike rate for our System Bets.
I am going to split this morning review into three sections and it seems only proper and correct that I start with Cheltenham.
Cheltenham – Day 2
13:30 – Our top rated horse came second but I am a bit concerned that we didn’t spot Samcro. John (who is on the free trial) alerted me to this issue and I’ll look into it today. It could be down to the fact that all of Samcro’s form happened in Ireland. Whatever, I’ll identify why Samcro wasn’t top rated.
14:10 – Our top two rated horses came first and second – unfortunately, in the wrong order. The Reverse Forecast paid £10.85 to the £2 stake.
14:50 – Nothing doing in this race.
15:30 – Our top rated horse came second and our second rated horse came first. The Reverse Forecast paid £3.89 to £2 in stakes.
16:10 – Nothing doing in this race.
16:50 – I don’t suppose that it makes any difference but, our second rated horse did win @ 34.0 ISP (50.0 BSP.)
17:30 – Our second rated horse won at 26.0 ISP (29.0 BSP.) Our top rated horse came third.
Other Highlights
Huntingdon 14:25 – Our top rated horse came second and our second rating horse came first. The Reverse Forcast paid £17.06 to a £2 stake.
Southwell (AW) 14:35 – Our top rated horse, Line House, won this race @ 2.625 ISP (2.76 BSP.) Our third rated horse came second.
Southwell (AW) 15:55 – Our top rated horse won this race @ 1.57 ISP (1.62 BSP.) Interstingly enough, our second rated horse came second and our third rated horse came third! The Forecast paid £3.08 and the Trifecta paid £5.60.
Huntingdon 16:25 – Our top rated horse won @ 1.33 ( BSP.)
Huntingdon 17:05 – Our top two rated horses came first and second – unfortunately in the wrong order. The Reverse Forecast paid £2.50.
Wolverhampton 17:45 – Our top rated horse, Bernies Boy, won @ 5.0 ISP (5.5 BSP.)
Wolverhampton 18:15 – Our top rated horse, King Kevin, won @ 3.25.0 ISP (4.65 BSP.)
Wolverhampton 18:45 – Our top rated horse, Seasearch, won @ 2.25 ISP (2.83 BSP.)
Wolverhampton 19:15 – Our top rated horse, Bowditch, won @ 1.30 ISP (1.39 BSP.)
System Bets – 5 Easy ways to make money…
From the free systems that I give away on the site (5 Easy Ways to make money from Horse Racing Ratings) we had 4 selections.
Southwell 15:55 – Captain Lars – 1st @ 1.57 (1.62 BSP.)
Huntingdon 17:40 – West to the Bridge – 0
Wolverhampton (AW) 17:45 – Bernies Boy – 1st @ 5.0 ISP (5.5 BSP)
Wolverhampton (AW) 19:45 – Peggys Angel -2nd
The system correctly predicted 2 winners from those 4 races.
Thus, a strike rate of 50%.
To ISP we had 6.57 points returned to the 4 points staked.
This equates to a profit on stakes (to ISP) of 64.25%.
To BSP we had 6.764 points returned (after a 5% commission) to 4 points staked.
This equates to a profit on stakes (to BSP) of 69.10%.

Conclusion
Overall, I’m pretty happy with yesterday’s results.
Obviously, I’d be happier had we got the Trifecta in every race but that’ll never happen. It does happen in my dreams, I do have to say – I often dream that, one day, that will happen!
Now, 6 of the 7 races where our top rated horse won, were All Weather races.
It would have been nice to have got lots of winners from Cheltenham but…
Cheltenham is only once a year; for the rest of the time much of the racing is BAU (Business as Usual) racing and that’s where ratings (any ratings, really) shine.
20 out of 28 races were won by a top three rated horse.
7 out of 28 races were won by a top rated horse.
So, not such a bad day, yesterday – although I am hoping for better things today.
For those of you on the current free trial, obviously I am around today. If any of you have any questions, just drop me a mail.
Have a great day’s racing!
As always…
My kindest regards
